National championship Gymnastics - Caleb

Congratulations to Caleb in Year 6 who represented Auckland in the level 4 Men’s Artistic Gymnastic at the 2016 NZ Gymsports National Championship in Invercargill during the holidays.

Out of 48 individuals competing from around NZ, Caleb came 3rd Equal on Pommel and his Auckland Team came 2nd.   This meant he qualified for the day two event, in which he came 12th overall in the all around finals. A fantastic result!!

Sounds like Caleb had a fantastic time and gained some valuable experience, while also rubbing shoulders with a range of successful NZ athletes including Rio Olympic trampolinist Dylan Schmidt and Commonwealth games Bronze medalist David Bishop as well as the Mayor of Invercargill Tim Shadbolt.
